Josh Hemmo is a lighting designer based in New York City. His creative approach transforms environments, crafting enchanting atmospheres that engage audiences. He has a deep passion for exploring the empathy theatre has with it's audiences and the emotional connection it creates with the community. Through that lens, he's able to paint the stage with light to ensure each project he's on captures moments of magic for everyone involved. That empathy extends past his designs and into his collaborations with the creative team. His positive, calm demeanor helps foster an open and fun environment from the first production meeting all the way through opening. Whether it's for theater productions, events, or installations, Josh's work illuminates beautifully, making a memorable impact. Since 2020, he's also had experience on film sets as designer, gaffer, and grip. Having had the opportunity to work on a variety of projects from corporate internal videos for companies like Google and Macys to music videos.

He received his BFA in Lighting Design from the University of Arizona.
